The 41st Elite Corps, commanded by Clone Commander Gree, served under Jedi Master Luminara Unduli during the Clone Wars. They later fought alongside Jedi Master Yoda and the Wookiees during the Battle of Kashyyyk. Heavy clone troopers are frontline fire-support specialists, carrying high-powered blasters designed to deliver sustained, high-damage output when maximum firepower is required.

This is a visual guide used for 501st costume approval, not a how-to for construction. Construction details are found at the costume's Detachment website. Measurements provided here are generalized, and not criteria for approval. All 501st costumes are proportionate to the wearer in terms of size, fit, and scale. During evaluation, both text and images (CRL and Reference) must be considered. When in doubt about a feature of a submitted costume, GMLs should post questions in the Legion forum's DL/GML peer review section.

Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below. For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met. This Detachment defines additional, optional costuming details listed in blue and red. Please visit the Detachment website for more details on these options.

• Phase II helmet (Battlefront II style).
  • Note: This is not a realistic ROTS “Cody” style helmet.
• Dome has a central mohawk fin.
• Two additional dark green mohawk fins run parallel to the centre fin (one on each side).
  • These extend past the front and rear edges of the centre fin.
• Brow band sits above the eye lens and continues around to the back of the helmet.
• Eye lens is black and has an elongated angled “W” shape.
  • The centre forms an extended “V” that continues toward the centre of the frown.
• Frown is charcoal grey with seven (7) teeth.
  • Wire or plastic mesh covers the frown openings from inside the helmet.
• Upper chin area is dark green.
• Lower front edge is rounded with a carved-out chin opening.
  • Chin vocoder is black.
  • Two aerators sit in the chin recess with a black rim and chrome mesh centres.
• Each cheek has nine (9) dark blue vertical hash marks.
• Ear caps are dark grey with black inner ovals.
• A grey, indented band wraps around the back of the dome.
• Helmet includes a fully enclosed neck ring that seals to the neck.
• A dark green visor is mounted above the eye lens.
  • Visor wraps around past the ears.
  • Visor connects to the cheeks via two (2) connection clips.

• Neck seal is black, with horizontal ribbing.
• No visible logos or labels.
• If the neck seal is not integrated into the undersuit, a balaclava or similar covering is acceptable.

• Black, non-textured fabric; one-piece or two-piece is acceptable.
• No visible zippers or logos.

• Shoulder bells are dark green.
• Teardrop shape with rounded edges.
• Left and right shoulders are symmetrical.

• Recessed area is present on the lower rear of the bicep.
• Outer bicep has a hard front edge that turns inward.
• Inner bicep is rounded.
• Armor is seamless with no visible assembly marks.

• Elbow includes a white silicone/urethane (or similar) strap.
  • Strap may be functional or cosmetic; black elastic may be used to hold the elbow in place.
  • Strap has a rough texture.
• Strap has raised detail lines along the top and bottom edges.
• Two parallel dashed detail slots sit on each outer edge at the strap connection.
  • These slots are painted white.

• Outer half of each forearm features a dark green detail with two inverted “teeth” and a ridge between them, ending about halfway up the forearm.
• Left and right forearms are mirror images.
• Right forearm has a compad with: eight (8) small buttons, one (1) large main button, and one (1) smaller rectangular button.
• Forearm has a flattened triangular area at the base with a ridge that peaks toward the top of the forearm.
• Armor is seamless with no visible assembly marks.

• Hand plates are dark green.
• Hand plates are symmetrical.
• Each plate has a top ridge that curves and comes to a point over the index or middle finger, just past the main knuckle.

• Black over-the-wrist gloves made of leather, nylon, or other low pile fabrics.
• Gloves cover any exposed skin.
• No visible logos or labels.

• Upper chest has a dark green area with two inverted symmetrical “teeth” and a ridge between them (matching the forearm motif).
  • The recess between the pectorals remains white (not dark green).
• Chest includes a dark green trapezoid that spans the width of the lower chest edge it connects to.
• Two recessed detail slots are on the right breast.
• Chest and back meet at the sides with an open gap.
• Shoulder straps sit under the chest to connect to the back.
• Shoulder straps slot into the ridged detail at the upper connection points.

• Rear deep blue centre plate includes a detailed area with:
  • Four (4) circles
  • Two (2) parallel lines in the bottom left
  • One (1) rectangular vent detail in the bottom right
• All recessed greeblies are painted white.
• Back and chest meet at the sides with an open gap.
• Shoulder straps sit under the back to connect to the chest.
  • Straps are slotted into the detail ridges at the top connection points.

• Two inset lines divide the abdomen into segments.
• Four (4) holes (approx. 6.35 mm / 1/4 inch diameter) are present in each inset line.
• Abdomen sits under the chest and back.
• Sides are seamless; closure is at the back.
  • A raised plate covers the seam and hides the rear closure.
• Outer edges of the recessed inset lines are painted dark green, terminating on either side of the rear raised plate.

• Codpiece and posterior connect at the hips.
• Hip connection includes a button greeblie appearance and the correct detailed connector shape.

• Front centre section (between boxes) has three (3) vertical rectangular indents, separated by two (2) raised rectangular details.
  • Remaining belt surface is flat, with raised edging along the top and bottom.
• Eight (8) belt boxes total: four (4) per side.
  • Two (2) largest boxes are at the front with an angled top surface that is higher toward the centre.
  • These boxes are dark green; the recessed inverted “U” detail remains white.
  • Two (2) smallest boxes sit behind the front boxes, approx. 3 mm (1/8 inch) behind, with an angled top end.
  • Two (2) medium boxes sit approx. 3 mm (1/8 inch) behind the smallest boxes, with flat top covers.
  • Left rear box:
    • Sits closer to the detonator
    • Has two (2) square buttons in the top left
    • Has two (2) dashed indented marks in the bottom right
  • Right rear box:
    • Sits closer to the detonator
    • Has a bar with two (2) small centred cylinders
    • Has two (2) dashed indented marks in the bottom left
  • Boxes are notched at the back and sit flush to the belt.
• A detonator is centred on the back of the belt.
  • Tube diameter is approx. 57 mm (2 1/4 inch) with wider detailed end caps.
  • Seven (7) square buttons are horizontally aligned on the left side of the tube (when viewed from behind).
  • From left to right: the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th buttons are painted deep blue.
  • Detonator attaches with no visible clips and sits securely horizontal.

• Thighs are dark green.
• Outer thigh edge has a thick white band that continues around the thigh as a thin stripe (per reference).
• Front lower thigh has a flat triangular area above the knee.
• A ridge line runs from the top of the triangle up the front of the thigh to the top edge.
• Rear thigh has an arched indentation.
• Lower outer edge comes to a point; inner lower edge is rounded.
• Armor is seamless with no visible assembly marks.

• Knee wraps around the front of the leg.
• A raised vertical panel is present at the top centre.
• Knee is held by a white strap with a raised grey centre section.
  • Strap wraps around the leg and connects on both sides.
  • Centre strap has a rough texture.
  • Strap connection includes a detailed clip.

• Left and right lower legs are mirror images.
• Shin includes a dark green inverted trapezoid wrapping around the top and extending down roughly two-thirds of the shin length.
• Front includes a triangular detail at the top and a hard ridge line down the shin.
• Rear includes an arched indentation under the calf running down toward the ankle.
  • A smaller arched detail appears at the heel.
• Outer top edge has a pointed tip; inner top edge is rounded.
• Calves are seamless and use a trap-door access through the rear indent.
  • No visible assembly traces.

• Dark green boots, ankle-high (or higher), fully covering the ankle so no undersuit shows.
• Boots are laceless.
• A centre strip runs from toe to ankle and flares toward the ankles.
• Two (2) rectangular panels are present on top of the boot.
• A white ankle band wraps across both ankles with circular protruding discs on either side.
• No visible maker markings or labels.
• Soles are flat and painted grey.

Optional Accessories

Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.

• Manufactured by BlasTech Industries, the DC-15S is smaller in scale than the DC-15A blaster rifle. Although it has a shorter range than that of the “A” model, it is easier to handle with a higher rate of fire and features a folding stock for braced firing.
• Realistic Clone Style DC-15S Blaster.
• Blaster may be scratch built out of plastic, wood, metal or cast in resin.
• Blaster has realistic Episode II or Episode III details:
• Wire frame sight.
• Folding stock.
• Twelve radiator fins evenly spaced along the length of barrel.
• Igniter detail knobs.
• Charge magazine clip on right side.
• Total length is approximately 26 inches (66 cm).
• Because of the scale, the Hasbro version is incorrect.

• Manufactured by BlasTech Industries, the DC-15A is a Tibanna gas cartridge powered weapon. Hyper-ionized blue plasma bolts are more than capable of penetrating armored units. Exceptionally effective against both droids and contemporary targets.
• Realistic Clone Style DC-15A Blaster Rifle.
• Blaster rifle is scratch built out of plastic, wood, metal or cast in resin.
• Blaster has realistic Episode II or Episode III details:
• Flip up sight in down position.
• Ten radiator fins are evenly spaced along the length of the barrel.
• Power setting adjuster detail lever.
• Sniper Scope attached under rifle in storage position.
• Charge magazine clip on left side.
• Igniter detail knobs.
• Total length is approximately 55 inches (139.7 cm).
• Because of the scale, the Hasbro version is not allowed.
