This Visual Guide has been reviewed by the detachment staff and the LMO team and is certified for use as a minimum approval guideline for GMLs. GMLs are free to approve this costume type.

This is a visual guide used for 501st costume approval, not a how-to for construction. Construction details are found at the costume's Detachment website. Measurements provided here are are generalized, and not criteria for approval. All 501st costumes are proportionate to the wearer in terms of size, fit, and scale. During evaluation, both text and images (CRL and Reference) must be considered. When in doubt about a feature of a submitted costume, GMLs should post questions in the Legion forum's DL/GML peer review section.

Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below. For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met.

Snaggletooth_mask

Mask

  • The mask must be a high quality representation of the reference images made of silicon, latex or other flesh like material. It must have mild weathering.
  • The face of the wearer must not be seen through the eyes or nose holes of the mask, it can be achieved by placing a mesh or similar covering.

Snaggletooth_jumpsuit

Jumpsuit

  • The jumpsuit must be a one piece overall made of strong high quality fabric with a seam at the waist line. The base colour is red and it must have a navy blue pattern matching the references.
  • The blue pattern is surrounded by a thin white bias binding.
  • It must have mild weathering.

Snaggletooth_belt

Belt

  • The belt is made of black leather or leather like material and is about 8 cms wide.
  • The buckle is made of two flat pieces: the rectangular base piece is black colour and on top of it there is another piece with the characteristic Snaggletooth symbol in gunmetal metallic grey.
  • Buckle must be metal or other material painted to look like metal.

Black-gauntlet-gloves

Black Gauntlet Gloves

  • Black, leather or leather-like, enclosed fingered, non-textured, fitted gauntlet style.
  • No buckles, straps, or decorative stitching are permitted.

Generic-black-boots

Boots

  • Calf high black leather or leather like material.
  • Free of laces, decorative stitching, buckles on the instep or any other embellishments.
  • Only the round tip of the boots is visible with and there are no visible straps, buckles, or laces.
  • Zippers on the inside of the boot are acceptable, so long as they are concealed.
