While experiencing a Force-induced vision, Cal confronts the fear of his own potential fall to the dark side. He appears as an Imperial Inquisitor, wearing the typical dark armor and regalia of the Inquisitorius, complete with the infamous red-bladed lightsaber.

This is a visual guide used for 501st costume approval, not a how-to for construction. Construction details are found at the costume's Detachment website. Measurements provided here are generalized, and not criteria for approval. All 501st costumes are proportionate to the wearer in terms of size, fit, and scale. During evaluation, both text and images (CRL and Reference) must be considered. When in doubt about a feature of a submitted costume, GMLs should post questions in the Legion forum's DL/GML peer review section.

Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below. For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met. This Detachment defines additional, optional costuming details listed in blue and red. Please visit the Detachment website for more details on these options.

• Hair/wig is red/orange and is slightly wavy.
• Hair/wig is short and slicked back slightly to the wearer's left, and lightly messy with some volume.
• There is no part.
• Light freckles are present around the face.
• There is a scar running diagonally across the nose down the right side of the face.
• There is a scar across the right lower cheek/jawline parallel to the nose scar.

• The fabric is a smooth black material with minimal to no texture.
• The collar sits approximately 3” tall.
• Neckseal fits snug around the neck.
• When worn, neckseal is visible above the suit standing collar.

• Armor is a rigid, smooth material.
• The chest armor is finished in gloss black and closely matches the shape and proportions seen in visual references from the game.
• The lower edge of the chest armor features angular lines with a shallow central point.
• The upper edge features two symmetrical concave curves, forming a wide, shallow U-shaped negative space at the center, with slightly squared outer shoulders on each side.
• There are two red buttons on the left side.
  • The buttons are tablet-shaped raised ovals.
  • The inner red is recessed.
  • The outer silver border is rounded at the top.
  • Two red buttons are present on the wearer’s left side, and these buttons may be illuminated.
• Mild weathering is present, revealing subtle silver beneath the black finish and matching reference imagery.

• Armor is a rigid, smooth material.
• The chest armor is finished in gloss black and closely matches the shape and proportions seen in visual references from the game.
• The overall shape mirrors the chest armor, with a broad upper section that tapers slightly toward the waist.
• The surface includes subtle angular paneling consistent with reference images.
• Mild weathering is present, revealing subtle silver beneath the black finish and matching reference imagery.
• The back armor includes a raised rectangular metallic control panel centered on the upper back.
  • The panel features four recessed tube details along the top, two vent-like horizontal elements on the lower left, and an intricately detailed rectangular detail on the lower right.
  • The panel has a silver or gunmetal finish with mild weathering and is framed by a raised border.

• Pauldrons are a rigid, smooth material.
• The chest armor is finished in gloss black and closely matches the shape and proportions seen in visual references from the game.
• The pauldrons that are symmetrical and worn one on each shoulder.
• Each pauldron features a white Imperial cog centered on the outer face, measuring approximately four inches in diameter.
  • There is black scuffing on the cogs.
• No straps, buckles, or fasteners are visible.
• Mild weathering is present, revealing subtle silver beneath the black finish and matching reference imagery.

• The armor bridges are matte black and connect the chest and back armor.
• There are two lower bridges beneath the arms, each approximately three inches wide and featuring eight evenly spaced rectangular raised sections.
• Two upper bridges are located at the shoulders, each approximately one inch wide and also featuring eight rectangular raised sections.
• The bridges must appear functional and integrated into the armor rather than purely decorative.
• They can be permanently attached to either or both chest and back armor as long as the costumer is able to get into the armor.

• Bracer is a rigid, smooth material.
• The right forearm bracer is finished in gloss black.
• Angular shape matches visual references.
• Right and left bracers mirror each other in shape, including the slant of the triangular section on the back.
• White “//” markings are present on the outer side of the gauntlet, with the lines evenly aligned and parallel.
  • There is black scuffing on the lines.
• The gauntlet includes an inset with rounded lower corners, and a rectangular commpad on the outer upper forearm.
  • There is a separate, thin bar that sits above the main commpad body.
  • The main body has four evenly sized and spaced bars on the mid to lower right side.
  • There is an upside down "L" shaped inset that is lined in white.
  • Two rounded rectangular red buttons sit at the bottom of the inverted white "L".

• Bracer is a rigid, smooth material.
• The left forearm bracer is finished in gloss black.
• Angular shape matches visual references.
• Left and right bracers mirror each other in shape, including the slant of the triangular section on the back.
• White “\” markings are present on the outer side of the gauntlet, with the lines evenly aligned and parallel.
  • There is black scuffing on the lines.
• Mild weathering is present, revealing subtle silver beneath the black finish and matching reference imagery.

• The vest is constructed from black leather or a leather-like material and has a smooth surface with subtle grain.
• Only two seams are visible, located on the sides beneath the arm openings.
• The arm and neck openings are finished with matching material black trim.
• A zipper may be present, provided it is completely concealed when the armor is worn.
• The vest does not extend below the bottom edge of the chest or back armor.

• The suit is constructed from black ribbed fabric with vertical ribbing.
• It is styled after an Imperial officer’s uniform but is constructed as a single piece.
• Blue-gray topstitching is present on all visible seams, with the exception of the shoulder-to-sleeve seams, which have no topstitching.
• The standing collar measures approximately 3 inches tall, is open at the front, and has a red interior. No dart is present below the collar.
• 1 inch wide red ribbed stripes run from the base of the collar down the outer side of each arm, as well as from the belt to the bottom of each pant leg.
  • The stripes have no visible stitching.
• A seam joins the upper and lower sections at the hips and is fully covered by the belt.
• The upper section closes left over right.
• The lower section is jodhpur style, featuring a single inseam and a left-over-right fly below the belt.
• Four pleats are present below the belt, with two in the front and two in the back.

• The gloves are constructed from leather or leather-like material and are form-fitting.
• The back of the hand is black, while the palm and the inside of the thumb are red.
• The gloves extend beneath the forearm gauntlets.
• No visible logos, buckles, straps, or decorative stitching are permitted.

• The belt is constructed from black, non-textured leather or a leather-like material.
• The belt measures approximately 2 inches to 2 1/2 inches in width.
• No belt loops are present.
• A single large silver snap or rivet is visible approximately 1 inch from the buckle on the wearer’s left side.
• The buckle is silver or chrome in appearance and constructed from metal or metal-like material.
• It measures approximately 2 1/8 inches tall by 4 1/8 inches wide, with rounded corners.
• The face of the buckle is smooth and features an inset “//” marking in the upper left corner from the wearer’s perspective.

• Armor is a rigid, smooth material.
• The armor consists of two gloss black plates that are symmetrical and worn one on each hip/thigh. The design matches visual references.
• The plates are mounted approximately 2 inches below the belt.
• No straps or fasteners are visible.
• Padding beneath the jodhpur flares is permitted to maintain the armor’s shape.
• Mild weathering is present, revealing subtle silver beneath the black finish and matching reference imagery.

• The boots are knee-high black riding boots made from smooth leather or leather-like material.
• They are laceless and have no center seam on the front of the shaft.
• The heel is conservative in height.
• A zipper or stretch panel may be present, provided it is hidden on the inner shaft and not visible from the front, sides, or back.
• A buckle at the top opening of the boot is permitted.

Optional Accessories

Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.

• Eyes are an olive green.
• Contact lens may be worn, if desired.
• While encouraged to complete the look of this character, the contact lens requirement will be waived for 501st acceptance, if the applicant cannot wear contact lenses for health related reasons.
• All persons utilizing contact lenses are encouraged to first see their optometrist for a fitting.

• If carried, the lightsaber must be based on visual references from the game.
• The hilt is constructed from metal or metal-like material.
• Only Cal Kestis’ base Jaro Tapal hilt is permitted.
• The hilt may be a single saber with a broken end or a double-ended configuration.
• The capped Jedi Survivor variant is not allowed.
• Galaxy’s Edge Legacy lightsabers are not acceptable.
• If blades are used, they are red.
