Darth Zash was a human female Sith Sorceress who lived during the era of the Great Galactic War and the resulting Cold War. In search of a cure for her terminal illness, she became obsessed with the power of an ancient ritual developed by the Dark Lord Tulak Hord.

This is a visual guide used for 501st costume approval, not a how-to for construction. Construction details are found at the costume's Detachment website. Measurements provided here are generalized, and not criteria for approval. All 501st costumes are proportionate to the wearer in terms of size, fit, and scale. During evaluation, both text and images (CRL and Reference) must be considered. When in doubt about a feature of a submitted costume, GMLs should post questions in the Legion forum's DL/GML peer review section.

Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below. For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met.

• The Hair is a golden blonde bob that parts above the left eye and is cropped close to the jawline.
• The lipstick is a dark rose color with a slightly darker lip liner.
• The eyebrows are medium to dark brown in color.
• The eye makeup is a dark smoky eye with blue at the edges.

• The neck plate is weathered gunmetal grey and consists of two side panels and a middle panel.
• The border around the neck is a darker grey and has a dark red line around the edge.
• There is a teardrop button and two circular buttons in the center of the border, with an indent in the center of each button.
• There are two coral-colored necklaces that hang on top of the neck plate.
• The top necklace has six round silver beads (three on each side) near the neck and four silver beads (two rectangular and two square) in the center of the necklace.
• The bottom necklace has three rectangular silver beads and one square silver bead with an indent in the center of the necklace.
• The hood is made of a black leather-like material that matches the details of the dress and the gloves.
• The hood is attached on both sides to the neck plate and has a section that drapes in the back down to the shoulder blades with a slight angle on the sides.
• The draped part has coral striping near the edge while the hood has a double coral stripe near its edge.
• There is a coral strip that reaches from the front of the hood stripes to the point of the hood, and down to the neck, but does not extend onto the drape.

• The base of the dress is made from a dark red leather-like fabric with mid-length sleeves.
• There are seven individual sections on the front with invisible seams consisting of a wider section in the center, and six sections that curve from the shoulders to the waist on the sides.
• The middle section has three vertical silver lines.
• The lower part of the dress has a branched applique that is outlined in a dark grey, with four branches angled downwards.
• The bottom of the dress has a coral-colored strip that reaches around the entire circumference of the dress and crosses under the applique.
• There are black leather-like full-length sleeves extending from under the red sleeves.
• Twelve equal-sized rectangles stretch around the arm of the sleeves just above where the gloves sit.
• There are two black strips on each side of the top of the dress that reach from the mid-chest to the waist that are made of the same material as the black sleeves.
• Each strip has four panels of equal width created with seams.
• Two hanging panels extend down from the black strips with an angled edge pointing towards the outside of the dress.
• The material is the same as the upper black panels and the black sleeves.
• There are six equal width panels created with seams.
• There is an angled panel that cuts across the bottom three panels with a double seam.
• Coral striping lines the inside of the panels near the edge.
• A black vertical rectangle of the same material as the panels and black sleeves sits at the lower back.
• The second layer is a coral-colored skirt that reaches ⅔ of the distance between the waist and the bottom of the dark red base dress in the front, and all the way to the bottom of the dark red base dress in the back.
• The front is open and comes straight down to a point before curving back towards the bottom of the dark red base dress.
• The third layer is the same black leather-like material used for the dress details, and is comprised of three panels.
• The front two panels angle towards the front in a narrowing form, and have an angled edge that follows the edge of the coral skirt.
• The bottom of the back panel is triangular in shape with a flattened point.
• The front panels and back panel are attached with a half-diamond shaped seam on the sides (see gallery for more detailed view).
• The fourth layer is a black leather-like triangle with four panels attached to it.
• The triangular piece has a coral strip that reaches ⅔ of the way down the center.
• The two shorter panels align with the two longer panels with an angled gap that points toward the outside.
• The longer panels have a flat edge at the bottom.
• The triangle and all four panels have coral striping near the edge of each piece.
• There are sixteen silver buttons located on the overall dress, with an indent in the center of each button.
• Four buttons are located on the sides of the abdomen (two on each side).
• Two buttons are located on the front center of the black sleeves (one on each arm).
• Four buttons are located on the sides of the hips and upper thighs (two on each side).
• Four buttons are located at the bottom of the black skirt panels (two on each side).
• Two buttons are located on the applique, with one near the bottom and one ⅔ of the way up to the first branches.

• There are two black plates that make up each shoulder consisting of a bottom plate and a top plate.
• The bottom plate is longer and rests on the shoulder.
• There is a rectangular cut-out at the end of the plate.
• The edge of the plate is coral-colored and slightly weathered.
• There are two equally spaced coral strips near the cutout.
• A dark red section with silver edging, a silver strip down the middle, and a small white outlined circle protrudes from the top corner of the plate towards the front of the body.
• The top plate is shorter with contoured, inward-facing angles and attaches to the bottom plate at the top.
• There is a large rectangular cutout near the bottom edge of the plate.
• All edges except for the bottom edge are coral-colored and slightly weathered.
• There is a coral strip near the upper edge.
• Centered on the coral strip is a rectangular section consisting of two metallic squares and five dark red rectangular strips.

• The gloves are elbow length and are fitted.
• The top of the gloves are black while the bottom is the same dark red color of the base dress.
• There is a black strip across the wrist on the bottom red section.
• There are two silver rings that go around the base of the thumb.
• The edge of the glove near the elbow has a slightly weathered metallic strip that extends ⅔ of the way around the arm, covering the bottom red section and part of the top black section.
• There are two black outlined squares at the ends of the strip.
• Sitting between the metallic strips is a slightly weathered metallic plate with inset angles.
• On the back of the hand sits a slightly weathered metallic rectangular plate.
• There are two coral bands that wrap around the wrist.
• Attached to the bands are two silver capsules that are wrapped with the same dark red material as the underside of the gloves.
• The inside and outside seams have four small silver beads for a total of eight beads per glove.
• One of the beads on each of the inside and outside seams sits between the coral bands.

• The back of the belt sits higher than the front of the belt.
• The base of the belt is black and includes a geometric detail that extends above and below the belt and sits against the front of the dress.
• There are coral lines outlining the interior of the geometric shape on both the top and bottom sections.
• Two dark purple lines run down the center of the sections and end in mirrored triangular shapes.
• A coral strip with rectangular cutouts sits on top of the black base.
• There are eight smaller cutouts (three on each side in the front and one on each side in the back) along with two medium cutouts (one on each side over the hips) and a large cutout extending across the back and under the rear box.
• A thin coral strip runs through the middle of the cutouts the entire circumference of the belt, with small dark rectangles where it overlaps the cutout strip.
• Three metal food capsules sit on the left of center and are attached with matching coral strips that cover the majority of the capsule.
• There are four belt boxes matching reference details that sit on the front, back, and sides of the belt.
• Two coral straps attach to the front sides of the belt and drape around the back over the rear.
• The top strap has nine rectangular metallic adornments that are grouped according to references.
• The bottom strap has eleven rectangular metallic adornments that are grouped according to references. Two of the adornments also have a circular design in the center.

• The red of the boots matches the dark red color of the dress base.
• A coral line marks the edge of the toe box with five horizontal black lines equidistant up to the top of the foot and beginning of the ankle.
• Two silver bands run horizontally across the back of the boot, with coral clasps on both ends of each band.
• A coral shin guard runs around the top of the boot and extends halfway down the front of the boot.
• There are two dark lines on the front of the guards.

Optional Accessories

Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.

• Contacts can be used to achieve the brown eye color.
• While considered an essential part of this character, contact lenses are not required for 501st acceptance.
• All persons wishing to utilize contact lenses are encouraged to first see their optometrist for a fitting.
