Barada served as a guard for Jabba the Hutt on his sail barge and skiff.

This is a visual guide used for 501st costume approval, not a how-to for construction. Construction details are found at the costume's Detachment website. Measurements provided here are are generalized, and not criteria for approval. All 501st costumes are proportionate to the wearer in terms of size, fit, and scale. During evaluation, both text and images (CRL and Reference) must be considered. When in doubt about a feature of a submitted costume, GMLs should post questions in the Legion forum's DL/GML peer review section.

Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below. For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met.

• Made from latex or silicone and light brown in color with green shading.

• Made from a light material, rough-textured and slightly weaved.
• Colour is yellow or orange.
• Tied at the lower back of the head with simple knots.
• Headband is weathered.

• Shirt is made from a soft light grey material with a woven look.
• The overturned v-neck opening has no method of closure with a wide turned down collar.
• Sleeves are puffed with loose cuffs.
• Shirt is weathered.

• Thick brown or kahki military work gloves.
• Gloves are weathered.

• The wide brown drab military style webbing strap is approximately 5 cm (2" wide) closed with a black rivet or snap.
• The belt is slung across the chest fro the top right shoulder.
• On the front of the belt are three grey of olive drab pouches with snap closures.
• The back of the strap has a grey or olive drab canvas canteen pouch with two buttons that sits over the backpack.
• All pouches have a used or weathered look.

• Black canvas military style backpack.
• Two thin webbing straps hold the pack loosely at the lower back.
• Top pocket is closed with a flap.
• The main pocket is closed with two straps.
• Backpack is weathered.

• Military style belt made of brown leather or leather like material.
• The belt has three grey or olive drab canvas military style pouches. Two with snap closures and one with a flap.
• Pouches are made of rough canvas material.
• Belt and pouches are weathered.

• The pants are dark blue and have a red stripe down the side of the legs.
• Pants shall be tucked into the boots.
• No pockets are visible when worn.
• Pants are weathered.

• Equestrian style boots style are calf high black leather or leather like material.
• The top of the boots have a wide band or rim.
• Boots are weathered.

Optional Accessories

Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.

• DL-18 blaster pistol.

• Made to resemble Barada's skiff guard weapon.
