Kithaba served as a guard for Jabba the Hutt on his sail barge and skiff.
This Visual Guide has been reviewed by the detachment staff and the LMO team and is certified for use as a minimum approval guideline for GMLs. GMLs are free to approve this costume type.
This is a visual guide used for 501st costume approval, not a how-to for construction. Construction details are found at the costume's Detachment website. Measurements provided here are are generalized, and not criteria for approval. All 501st costumes are proportionate to the wearer in terms of size, fit, and scale. During evaluation, both text and images (CRL and Reference) must be considered. When in doubt about a feature of a submitted costume, GMLs should post questions in the Legion forum's DL/GML peer review section.
Required Costume Components
The following costume components are present and appear as described below. For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met.

- Made from latex or silicone and brown in color. The eyes are cut out, so that the eyes of the wearer can be seen.

- The headband is dark red and made from taffeta fabric.
- The ends of the headband may cover the slit on the back of the mask.
- Color shall match the pants.
- Headband is weathered.

- Vest is yellow and made from a matte fabric with a large square waffle weave.
- The Vest has a rounded neck.
- The small sleeves are short enough to cover the shoulders of the wearer.
- The front of the vest is sewn from four parts and the back is one single piece of fabric.
- Two semi circle pockets are present on the on either side of the vest opening.
- Vest is weathered.

- Badge is worn on the vest and made from aluminum or similar looking material.
- The badge is approximately 5/8" (15 mm) high and 3" (75 mm) wide.

- The shirt is made from a white or off-white ribbed material.
- The long sleeves fit loosely around the arms and the cuffs are tight at the wrists.
- Shirt is thoroughly weathered.

- Light brown or brown suede or a suede like non-textured fitted gauntlet style glove.
- Gloves do not have buckles, straps, or decorative stitching.
- Gloves are worn under the shirt.
- Gloves are weathered.

- Three olive green canvas M-14 styled ammo pouches slung across the chest.
- Pouches should appear full not flat or empty.
- The strap the pouches are attached to is olive green, made from canvas or duck cloth material and approximately 2" (50mm) wide.
- When worn the strap runs from the left shoulder under the right arm.

- The belt is made of canvas or duck cloth material and is approximately 1 7/8" (45 mm) wide.
- Buckle is made of leather or leather like material and is approximately 2 2/8" (57mm) high and 3 3/8" (85mm) wide.
- The belt has a loop on each side approximately 1" (25mm) wide and made of beige leather or leather like material.
- The loops run from the buckle to the backside of the belt.The loops intersect on the buckle and are fastened by rivets.
- The belt and the loops are weathered.

- The pouch is light grey and made of either a canvas or duck cloth material.
- Pouch is weathered.

- The pants are dark red and have a black stripe down the side of the legs.
- The stripes are sewn from the waist to the leg hems.
- Pants shall be tucked into the boots.
- No pockets are visible when worn.
- Pants are weathered.

- The german jack boots style are calf high black leather or leather like material.
- Boots are free of decorative stitching, straps or buckles.
Optional Accessories
Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.
