Klaatu was one of a Kadas'sa' Nikto who served Jabba the Hutt repairing his skiffs and sail barge.

This is a visual guide used for 501st costume approval, not a how-to for construction. Construction details are found at the costume's Detachment website. Measurements provided here are are generalized, and not criteria for approval. All 501st costumes are proportionate to the wearer in terms of size, fit, and scale. During evaluation, both text and images (CRL and Reference) must be considered. When in doubt about a feature of a submitted costume, GMLs should post questions in the Legion forum's DL/GML peer review section.

Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below. For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met.

• Leather-like-helmet that covers the top of the head.
• A silver metal or metal-like Mohawk/plume crosses over the top of the helmet.
• Mohawk is attached with leather bands or laces.
• Attached to the front laces are springs or coiled metal.
• The sides of the helmet have dull metal or silver embedded studs.
• A cushioned or padded green-grey neck guard hides the neckline and is attached to the back bottom of the helmet

• Mask is made from latex or similar material.
• Eyes are black in colour and hide wearers eyes from view.
• Colored dark green.
• The face and hands are the same shade of green and have the same general finish/texture.

• Jump suit is made from fabric that is white or light beige in colour and lightly weathered
• No visible closure or buttons.
• The suit should have a loose fit.

• Orange-to-grey shoulder pauldrons made of rough textile or similar material.
• Pauldrons should have a used and weathered look
• Pauldrons are attached to the suit.

• The chest harneless covers the front, sides and the back of the neck in a rectangular pattern.
• Has two attachments on the shoulders, held by rivets.
• There are two thinner straps lead under the armpit and cross at the back.
• Made of leather or leather-like material, tan or brown in color with a used look.

• Brown leather or leather-like material bracelet or cuff worn on the left wrist just above the hand.
• Material has a used and weathered look.
• Metal rivets around the bracelet are attached in the middle of the cuff.

• Hands Are made from latex or similar material.
• Colored dark green.
• The face and hands are the same shade of green and have the same general finish/texture.

• The karma is of quilted fabric and has the correct configuration of padded diamonds.
• The karma is held by a twisted and curved leather belt up front that inserts in a broader leather attachment on top of the karma.
• The karma has folds on the left side and a rectangular leather pouch on the right (the pouch should be black or dark leather or similar material).
• To emulate the Skiff Guard version of Klaatu the Kama is worn on back. The kama is worn on the front for the Palace Guard version.

• Spats are brown or tan in color and made of soft leather or similar material.
• Spats cover the lower shin and the instep of the shoe.
• The spats have two thinner loops at the bottom and two broader loops around the leg (the
• closure and cuff-like style should match the visual references). The cuff on top may be separated from the spat.

• Shoes are black in color and have a used and weathered look.
• Shoes have a low heel and are free of laces or other details.
• Socks plain white or cream and heavily weathered.

Optional Accessories

Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.
